French Prime Minister Michel Barnier’s government collapsed on Wednesday following a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly (lower house of parliament).
The left-wing coalition NFP and the far-right National Rally party (RN) cast their ballots en masse against the former Brexit chief negotiator after Barnier used Article 49.3 of the Constitution to push through the 2025 social security budget plan without a parliamentary vote.
So, what’s next for France?
Michel Barnier will likely be asked to stay on as a caretaker government, just like former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal did this summer after French President Emmanuel Macron dissolved the National Assembly following his party’s crushing defeat in the EU elections.
The caretaker government will have to expedite current affairs and cannot vote on new laws.
It’s up to Macron to nominate a new prime minister and he has no specific deadline. The president has expressed his intention to act swiftly, within the next 24 hours. The Elysée has also confirmed a televised address for Thursday at 8 pm local time.
However, the choice of the new prime minister will be complex as the current National Assembly, formed after the last elections, is more fragmented than ever and lacks a clear majority.

Macron had planned to meet with Zelenskyy, and the French president’s office said he proposed the three-way meeting shortly before Trump’s arrival.
“The world’s going a little crazy right now and we’ll be talking about that,” Trump said ahead of the meeting.
Trump has signaled he would prefer to quickly negotiate an end to the ongoing Russia–Ukraine war, but with questions remaining about how he would halt the fighting.
“We all want this war to end as soon as possible and in a just way,” Zelenskyy wrote in a statement on X following the meeting. “We spoke about our people, the situation on the ground, and a just peace. Job Cuts Spike, Marking 4th-Worst November Since 2008–09 Financial Crisis
U.S. layoffs surged in November, with nearly 60,000 job cuts announced, as economic pressures weighed on manufacturing, automotive, and technology sectors.
Job cuts in the United States accelerated in November, with employers announcing 57,727 layoffs, a 3.8 percent increase from October and 26.8 percent higher than the same month last year, according to a report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas, a Chicago, Illinois-based global outplacement and career transitioning firm.
The November figure marks the fourth-highest for the month since the financial crisis of 2008–09, as economic pressures mount across key industries.
The report, released on Dec. 5, also shows that, year to date, U.S. employers have announced a total of 722,566 layoffs, a 5.2 percent increase compared with 2023. Excluding the record-breaking job cuts of 2020, this year’s total is the highest since 2009.
In terms of industries most affected by layoffs, the automotive sector led with 11,506 job cuts in November, the highest monthly total since April, as the industry faces challenges such as potential tariffs, competition from Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers, and shifting government subsidies.
Manufacturing also showed weakness, with the industrial manufacturing sector like heavy-machinery production shedding 21,974 jobs through November, a 158 percent increase from the 8,517 announced in the sector during the year-ago period. The overall manufacturing sector—which includes industrial manufacturing and consumer goods production—cut 26,000 jobs in November alone, according to separate data from payroll processor ADP, marking its second consecutive month of significant declines. Scientists Are Developing CRISPR Gene-editing Tools to Cure Inherited Diseases — But There’s a Catch
Under certain conditions, CRISPR-based gene editing can lead to large-scale deletions and rearrangements of DNA, according to a team of researchers and physicians from the ImmuGene clinical research program at the University of Zurich in Switzerland.
CRISPR-based gene-editing tools are being developed to correct specific defective sections of the genome to cure inherited genetic diseases, with some applications already in clinical trials.
However, there is a catch: under certain conditions, the repair can lead to large-scale deletions and rearrangements of DNA — as in the case of targeting the NCF1 gene in chronic granulomatous disease (CGD). This was reported by a team of researchers and physicians from the ImmuGene clinical research program at the University of Zurich.
Their findings have important implications not just for gene editing-based therapy, but also for CRISPR-mediated gene editing of animals and plants, where the same types of large-scale genetic damage could be triggered.
Indeed, because such editing is carried out with much less caution in non-human organisms, the likelihood of such large-scale damage occurring is hugely increased (see below on multiplexing).
The study also shows that attempts to avoid these problems by using adaptations of CRISPR gene editing technologies, such as prime and base editing, may not succeed.
This research on CGD is also only the latest in a series of studies that have repeatedly shown that different types of unintended mutations resulting from gene editing can affect the functioning of multiple gene systems, with potentially damaging consequences. Read more…

The Institute of Molecular Diagnostics (Inmodia GmbH) is offering tests to establish whether a person’s body has vaccine spike protein or DNA plasmids. The purpose of the tests is to allow people who believe they have been injured by a covid “vaccine” to present evidence in court, for example, to support their claims. Additionally, the tests will help collect evidence to support the argument for discontinuing the use of covid injections.

Never before in the history of medicine has a vaccination been associated with such a high number of serious side effects and consequential harm, including deaths occurring simultaneously. This situation arises primarily because the covid-19 vaccine is not a vaccine as we know it but rather a novel gene-based product that utilises an untested technology in humans.
Two different forms of genetically engineered injections were used in the global covid vaccination campaign. In both cases, the injections forced our bodies’ cells to produce the foreign spike protein (SARS-CoV-2, Wuhan variant).
In the case of DNA-based injections (AstraZeneca, Janssen / Johnson & Johnson), the blueprint for the spike protein is available in the form of a DNA copy, which is introduced into the cells with the help of an adenovirus envelope. Once inside the cell, the DNA must first be transcribed into mRNA.
In the case of RNA-based injections (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna), the blueprint for the spike protein, which occurs naturally on the surface of coronavirus particles, is already available as mRNA, which is introduced into the cells with the help of an envelope of partly synthetic fat-like molecules (lipid nanoparticles, LNPs).
This “vaccine mRNA” is not natural but genetically modified (“modRNA”). The chemical composition of the modRNA has been modified by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna in many ways so that the end product no longer corresponds to a naturally occurring mRNA. El-Deiry and his colleagues observed that when cancer cells encountered spike protein subunits, it reduced the activity of p53.
By interfering with p53, the spike blocks the protein that helps defend the body against tumors.

RSV Vaccines May Increase Risk of Rare Neurological Condition
CDC officials are investigating a potential link between two recently approved RSV vaccines and increased reports of Guillain-Barré syndrome in adults over 60.
Recently approved vaccines for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) for older adults may be linked to a rare nervous system disorder that causes the body’s immune system to attack its own nerves.
In a Feb. 29 meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, health officials presented data that appear to show a slightly elevated rate of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) among people who received RSV vaccines by Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
A data mining alert on Jan. 19 for disproportional reporting was detected by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Pfizer’s Abrysvo RSV vaccine and GBS but has not been reported to date for GSK’s RSV vaccine Arexvy, according to Dr. Tom Shimabukuro, deputy director of the CDC’s influenza division and former director of the CDC’s immunization safety office.
The FDA uses data mining to identify statistical associations between products and events in their respective safety databases. If there is disproportionate reporting of an event for a particular product, this could suggest a statistical association between the adverse event and the product.
According to data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) presented by Dr. Shimabukuro, data show 35 reports of GBS with 18 cases attributed to Pfizer’s vaccine, Abrysvo, 16 cases attributed to GSK’s Arexvy, and one case that was not reported under either brand name.
The CDC verified 23 cases of GBS reported to VAERS as of Feb. 16—all occurring within 22 days of RSV vaccination. Of the 23 cases, 15 were attributed to Pfizer’s vaccine and eight to GSK’s vaccine. Fourteen males experienced the condition compared with nine females. There was one death reported in a 70-year-old man who developed GBS after receiving Arexvy.
“Certainly 23 cases of GBS within 22 [days] of RSV vaccination is not a ‘small signal’ given the woeful underreporting in VAERS,” Brian Hooker, chief scientific officer at Children’s Health Defense, who holds a doctorate in biochemical engineering, told The Epoch Times in an email.
“What is always missing with VAERS is a good denominator. Given that these vaccines have been distributed for less than a year (since May 31, 2023), I would expect the uptake to still be fairly low,” he added. Read more…

The findings, published on Nov. 18 in Environmental Health, are based on a review and analysis of data from six epidemiological studies representing 4,860 children from diverse populations in North America, Europe and Asia.
They underscore growing evidence that air pollution severely impacts childhood health even before birth, with new research published this month showing it can harm embryo quality during in vitro fertilization, or IVF.
This marks the first time, however, that researchers have quantified the correlation between early life exposures to fine airborne particulate matter (PM2.5), a common air pollutant, and declines in verbal and nonverbal mental abilities, as measured by Intelligence Quotient (IQ) scores.
IQ tests assess a range of mental skills, including memory, reasoning, working with numbers, processing language and thinking about objects in three dimensions.
“Without exception, each study reported a negative association between PM2.5 exposure and children’s cognitive function,” say the researchers, including Dr. Philip Landrigan, director of Boston College’s newly launched Global Observatory on Pollution and Health and former cochair of The Lancet Commission on pollution and health.
The results are important because a child’s IQ is a strong predictor of their neurodevelopment, future academic achievement, employment opportunities, financial earnings and economic mobility in adulthood, says study co-author Ella Whitman.
“At a population level, reduced cognitive function in children can increase the educational support needed in schools, reduce a society’s gross domestic product (GDP), and future leadership potential,” she says. “Our results demonstrate the urgent need to reduce exposure to PM2.5 in the early stages of life to promote longitudinal outcomes in children’s health, and human capital.” Read more…

U.K. Government Pours Big Sums into Latest UN Crackdown on Climate Dissent
The British Government is one of the main financial backers of a new international campaign designed to suppress online climate science scepticism ahead of next year’s ‘make-or-break’ COP30 in Brazil. Run by the United Nations and UNESCO, the Global Initiative for Information Integrity on Climate Change was signed off at the recent G20 Summit in Brazil. Part of its remit will fund non-profit outfits rooting out so-called disinformation and promoting ‘public awareness campaigns’. Commenting on the campaign, the UN’s global communications flack Melissa Fleming noted that a growing number of people are waking up to the harms caused by climate disinformation and “toxic information ecosystems in general”. She suggested that a global movement for “information integrity is gaining momentum”.
In fact this initiative is a desperate throw of the dice to further trash the scientific process and curb free speech and commentary. Fed by decades of failed doomsday climate predictions, fake, cherry-picked and massaged statistics, farcical weather ‘attribution’ claims and an increasingly obvious politicised ‘ban’ on sceptical discussion of the actual science, the ‘momentum’ is turning towards a demand for genuine debate. This terrifies global elites faced with a loss of credibility – as evidenced by popular votes in numerous recent elections – who thus launch yet more crackdowns in increasingly desperate attempts to cancel their critics.
This was always likely to happen as deindustrialisation and the need for radical life-changing (and life-threatening) economic and societal changes started to become obvious under the Net Zero fantasy. Removing hydrocarbons from a modern industrial economy is impossible. But taking a different view has offered countless opportunities for command-and-control nuts from the Left of the political spectrum. The fertilizer was promoted as an environmental win-win for years. An untold number of farmers and ranchers across Texas have spread it on their land.
JOHNSON COUNTY — Tony Coleman recognizes the signs all too well. A cow drools strings of saliva. Then it starts to limp, each step slower. Then it grows stiff.
Then it’s quick. There’s nothing to be done. The cow dies.
Since early 2023, the Grandview rancher has watched more than 35 of his 150 Black Angus cattle perish. July was especially brutal. In the span of a week, Coleman lost a 3-week-old calf; a cow; and Little Red, a strong bull full of spirit, leaving Coleman with nothing but unanswered questions.
“This is destroying our lives,” Coleman said. “You never know what you’re going to get every day when you get down here.”
Next door, James Farmer has lost two calves, and found two of his wife’s beloved horses toppled to the ground like dominos, their bodies swarmed by buzzards.
“It’s hard for me to tell her, because I know she’s gonna break down,” he said. “Why are our animals dying? Just back to back? It never ends.”
Months before, the men said they noticed a gag-inducing sewage smell drifting from smoking piles of fertilizer on their neighbor’s property. Heavy rains then washed some of the fertilizer onto their land. Soon after, they said they found fish floating dead in the stock ponds their livestock drink from.
They contacted the county with their concerns, triggering a nine-month investigation. That’s when their cattle and horses began to die.
An environmental crime investigator in Johnson County collected samples of the dead animals’ tissue and organs, the water they drank from, the soil and the fertilizer that was applied next door.
After the county received test results, the two families finally got their answer: The animals had been killed by something in the fertilizer.
The fertilizer had been made with biosolids, part of an effort to find a climate-friendly method to recycle municipal sewage. But the fertilizer also contained synthetic and highly hazardous chemicals known as PFAS, which are found in hundreds of household products and have had devastating effects on farms and ranches that inadvertently spread them on their land. Oxitec, a U.K.-based biotech company, asked the EPA to approve its “Friendly” brand GMO mosquitoes for sale in stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s. Critics say there’s no data proving the insects are safe for humans or the environment.
A U.K.-based biotech company is seeking U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approval to sell genetically modified (GM) mosquitoes directly to U.S. consumers as a “biopesticide.”
If the EPA approves the company’s product registration application, Oxitec could sell boxes of GM Aedes aegypti mosquitoes — under the brand name “Friendly” — directly to consumers across the U.S. in stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s, according to GMO Free USA.
After customers add water to the boxes, the GM mosquitoes hatch and take flight.
According to Oxitec:
“Friendly males carry a self-limiting gene that when passed on, prevents their offspring from surviving to adulthood. With regular releases of Friendly males, the number of offspring … is reduced, resulting in a reduction in the pest insect population.”
Critics say Oxitec has failed to scientifically show that its GM mosquitos are safe for human health, endangered species and the environment.
GMO Free USA Founder and Executive Director Diana Reeves told The Defender:
“It is mind-boggling that the EPA would consider the commercialization of a biopesticidal organism that has potentially consequential impacts on human health, endangered species and our environment without thorough study. No such studies have been performed.”

Powerful 7.0 Earthquake Strikes Off Coast of Northern California; Tsunami Warning Canceled
The 7.0-magnitude quake struck near Ferndale, located 250 miles north of San Francisco.
A 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Northern California on Dec. 5, according to U.S. officials, triggering a brief tsunami warning.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the tremor hit about 60 miles west-southwest of Ferndale, California, a city located about 100 miles south of the California–Oregon border.
“We haven’t received any reports of outside damage, just a lot of inside [stuff] breaking and messes,” Ferndale City Clerk Kristene Hall told The Epoch Times. “Things were thrown off the shelves.”
City officials were out in the town checking on the effects of the large quake on the morning of Dec. 6 but hadn’t found any houses damaged.
The city also had no reports of injuries at 11:30 a.m., Hall said.
“No houses are down or anything like that, which is good because it was pretty shaky here,” she said.
A tsunami warning was issued in the immediate aftermath of the quake but was lifted about 50 minutes later. The National Weather Service’s San Francisco office had issued the warning on social media about possible tsunami impacts: “We are still waiting for magnitudes of water rise.”
The earthquake struck at a depth of about six miles at approximately 10:44 a.m. local time. It was first preliminarily registered as being a 6.6 on the Richter scale, but the USGS upgraded it a 7.0 a short while later.
Several aftershocks of smaller magnitudes struck in the area off the coast after the initial 7.0-magnitude temblor, according to the USGS.
About three minutes after the 7.0 earthquake struck, a 2.5-magnitude earthquake also hit inland about 200 miles to the southeast in Cobb, located in Central California, the USGS reported. The Cobb tremor was revised down from 5.8 by the USGS.

After yesterday’s offshore “earthquake,” there is presently a significant Radiation Spike in San Diego, CA, which is now showing 600 Counts-Per-Minute (CPM) of Gamma Radiation in the 800 KeV range; about triple of everywhere else in California.
This reading comes from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Radiation Monitor Network, as being presently reported by the private sector website Nuclear Emergency Tracking Center (NETC).
The reason this is peculiar, has to do with yesterday’s offsshore, Magnitude 7.0 earthquake, 647 miles farther north, off the shore of Mendocino, CA.
That “earthquake” has an interesting, and curious “Waveform” on seismic monitors…
A number of observers have mentioned that this waveform bears more resemblance to that of an explosion than to an earthquake. The sudden, and massive surge of seismic waves is *NOT* what one typically sees when a large earthquake takes place. Usually, there is a small, but visible build-up to the main quake.
